I’ve been talking about buying a new bass for a long time (almost all year)….and finally I took the plunge and today (November  10th it arrived)

I am now the proud owner of a Status Eclipse Artist Series Limited Edition #50/100 (although I believe only 66) were ever made - 4 string bass. (Note this is actually my 50th birthday present but the serial number #50 was a suprise/coincidence) .

A full graphite neck (no truss rod) and a beautiful body. Those of you who know me well are familiar that I’ve always turned to my trusty Kubicki bass whenever its been time to ‘take it up a notch’…but this Status bass (circa 1996) is truly amazing. It is soooooo easy to play - I never thought I would find a full scale bass that is this effortless to play.  And the tone - well it is very versatile and can cover just about anything, but I love the HiFi 80’s sound I can get out of it.
